Webster Applauds Passage of REINS Act to Encourage Job Growth
Washington,
Dec 7, 2011 -
(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Representative Daniel Webster (FL-08), a cosponsor of the Regulations from the Executive In Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, issued the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the job-creation initiative by bipartisan a vote of 241 to 184:
“In my discussions with business owners across our state, runaway regulations are frequently cited as a contributor to the uncertainty that prevents hiring and expansion. To effectively turn America’s economy around and restore financial stability to Florida’s families and individuals, we must remove unnecessary regulations that act as hidden taxes - crippling businesses both small and large.
“Implementing the REINS Act will help inject smart restraint into an unaccountable regulatory situation that costs small business owners an estimated $10,500 per-employee for compliance. Removing these burdensome costs will lead to lower consumer costs, higher wages, and employee recruiting.
“I encourage the Senate to quickly pass the REINS Act along with the 25 other job creation measures sent to them by the House of Representatives,” said Congressman Daniel Webster.
