2012 Congressional Art Competition for Central Florida High School Students

Washington, Mar 8, 2012 - I am pleased to announce that my office will be sponsoring the 2012 Congressional Art Competition for Central Florida high school students.

The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent of Central Florida youth. One entry will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, where it will be viewed by U.S. congressional representatives, staff, and visitors from around the country. First and second runners-up will be exhibited in my Washington and Winter Garden offices. This year we request that students focus on a patriotic theme for all artwork entries.

Please review the official competition guidelines for more information. Each submission must include the 2012 Congressional Art Contest Entry Form and should be sent to the Art Competition Coordinator, Rachel Sivells in the Winter Garden office by March 15, 2012. The public viewing ceremony and unveiling of the top three entries will be held on April 5th from 5-6 pm, Windermere Town Hall, 614 Main Street.

For complete details on how to participate, view last year’s winners, official submission requirements, judging details and important dates visit the competition page, or contact the Winter Garden office at 407-654-5705 or email Rachel Sivells at Rachel.Sivells@mail.house.gov.
