(Winter Garden FL) – U.S. Representative Daniel Webster (FL-08) issued the following statement after hosting a congratulatory briefing with the individuals selected to serve in the United States Service Academies:

“Each year I have the privilege of nominating accomplished young men and women to attend the United States Service Academies. These young people are the best of the best, and are eager to serve our nation. I’m pleased that this year, six young people from our community received appointments.

“The extremely competitive selection process is based on key areas involving leadership, academics and community involvement. From the talented group of individuals that were nominated, six were offered appointments to different academies. Three were appointed to the Air Force Academy, one to the Naval Academy, and two with the Military Academy at West Point.

“These young men and women have risen among their peers as the nation’s finest. They will have the distinct privilege to serve our country with determination and an unwavering commitment to protect our nation from our enemies.

“I offer sincere congratulations to the appointees, and their families and friends, who will continue to support them as they begin their mission to serve our great country,”
said Webster.
