Washington, D.C. — Yesterday, with the support of Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, the House passed H.R. 6918, the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act, legislation cosponsored by Rep. Webster, and H.R. 6914, the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act.

“This week I voted to pass legislation that ensures pregnant mothers across the country have access to the resources and care they need as they bring a child into the world,” said Rep. Webster. “Life is our most precious gift, and one of the three unalienable rights promised to all individuals in the Declaration of Independence. I have, and will continue to support legislation that defends the rights of the unborn.”

Background on legislation:

  • H.R. 6918 prevents the Biden Administration from restricting funding to pregnancy centers that provide pregnant mothers and families with life-affirming care and resources.
  • H.R. 6914 requires universities and higher education institutions that participate in Title IV federal student aid programs to support pregnant women by providing information and resources to help them carry their baby to term and care for the baby after birth.
