Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, today voted for H.R. 3602, the End the Border Catastrophe Act, which requires President Biden to restart border wall construction, hires an additional 22,000 border patrol officers, improves technology at U.S. borders, ends the Department of Homeland Security’s COVID-19 mandate on employees and more.

“Last May, I voted to pass the strongest border security bill in American history, H.R. 2, which included my bill to restart border wall construction,” said Rep. Webster. “Sadly, the Senate has failed to take action on H.R.2 and the numerous other bills the House has passed that would improve border security. President Biden has refused to reverse the 60 executive actions he took that have caused chaos at our southwest border.

“I’ve been to the Southern Border and seen first-hand how President Biden’s failed policies have perpetuated this crisis. I won’t stop fighting to secure our border and hold Secretary Mayorkas and President Biden accountable. This bill ends the disastrous policies from the Biden Administration and implements real reforms that will secure our borders and protect the American people.”

H.R. 3602 implements real policy changes that will help secure our border by:

  • Forcing the Biden Administration to resume construction of President Trump’s border wall.
  • Ending the "catch and release” policy.
  • Re-instating the Trump-Era “Remain in Mexico” policy.
  • Increasing the number of Border Patrol agents and providing additional pay.
  • Reimbursing states for costs incurred while securing the border.
  • Requiring transparency regarding illegal crossings from the Department of Homeland Security, and much more.
