Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, released the following statement after voting to pass H.R. 4, the Rescissions Act of 2025. 
 
“We must stop the spigot of spending in Washington, and every dollar of waste that can be eliminated makes a difference,” said Rep. Webster. “Together with President Trump, my Republican colleagues and I are cutting billions of dollars in unnecessary spending, including not spending taxpayer dollars on left wing networks that mock millions of Americans. We are also eliminating wasteful spending on radical foreign aid programs that do not put America first."
 
Wasteful spending cut through the rescissions package includes:
 
  • $1.1 billion in federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
  • $1 million for voter ID in Haiti
  • $3 million for Iraqi Sesame Street
  • $2.1 million for “climate resilience” in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and East Africa
  • $6 million for “Net Zero Cities” in Mexico
  • $8 million for the UN Human Rights Council
  • $3 million for reproductive health in Venezuela
  • $6 million for supporting media organizations and civic life of Palestinians
