Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, today praised President Trump and his Administration for releasing the 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, delivering the most significant reform to federal nutrition policy in decades.

“Good nutrition is the foundation for strong families and a healthy nation, yet for years federal dietary guidance drifted away from common sense and towards highly processed foods that have contributed to poor health outcomes and rising chronic disease,” said Rep. Webster.

Last year, Congressman Webster raised concerns to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins about this backwards approach and the need to refocus our nutrition policy on real food and prevention.

“I applaud President Trump and his Administration for taking action to reset the guidelines, restore transparency, and put real food back on the table that will Make Americans Healthy Again.”

The updated guidelines emphasize whole foods – prioritizing high-quality protein, healthy fats, fruits and vegetables, and whole grains – while limiting highly processed foods, added sugars, and artificial additives.
