Webster Advances Coast Guard Authorization Bill

Washington, D.C. — Today, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee approved of H.R. 4275 the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2025, which strengthens America’s maritime security and establishes a Secretary of the Coast Guard to ensure the USCG continues its critical missions to safeguard the Nation’s borders, facilitate maritime commerce, and ensure maritime safety.
“Since 1790, the Coast Guard has safeguarded the American people, promoted national security and protected the nation from maritime threats. Today, it has dedicated and capable personnel stationed around the world,” said Rep. Webster.
“The Coast Guard Authorization Act builds on the historic investments made in the One Big Beautiful Bill to provide the resources needed to ensure our Coast Guard has the ships, manpower, and tools to respond to emergencies, protect our maritime borders, and secure American sovereignty.”
The Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2025 authorizes funding through fiscal year 2029 to expand operational capabilities, modernize the Coast Guard’s acquisition process, and establishes the Secretary of the Coast Guard to ensure the service can address 21st-century challenges.
