(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Representative Daniel Webster (FL-08) encourages his colleagues to support passage of the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act of 2011, H.R. 2560, coming to the House floor for a vote early this evening.

“The first step necessary to create jobs in this country is to cut spending. The second step is to tackle spending habits in Washington by transforming the spending process. The Cut, Cap, and Balance Act takes both of these critical steps.” said Congressman Webster. “A government that cannot live within its means cannot deliver on its promises. Tax-and-spend policies have not only failed to turn this economy around, they have recklessly put vital programs in jeopardy.”

The Cut, Cap, and Balance Act of 2011 transforms the spending process in Washington by cutting $111 billion in 2012, putting caps on future spending, and sending a Balanced Budget Amendment to the states.

“I encourage my colleagues to support the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act to transform the reckless spending process in Washington and begin to restore financial stability for families in communities across America,” said Congressman Webster.

Congressman Webster is an original cosponsor of the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act.
