Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, once again voluntarily rolled back his salary to the 2008 level. After delivering a personal check to the Bureau of Fiscal Service at the U.S. Department of Treasury, Rep. Webster issued the following statement:

“Washington needs leaders who lead by example,” said Rep. Webster. “I have consistently called on my colleagues to reduce government spending and to set an example, every year I reduce my congressional salary. If all government spending was rolled back to the 2008 amounts, the federal budget would balance.”

Each year since being elected, Rep. Webster has rolled back his salary to the 2008 level. In coming weeks, Rep. Webster will also announce voluntary savings his Members Representational Allowance (MRA), the taxpayer-funded budget Members are given to run their congressional offices in Washington and in their district.
