Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, recently joined Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) and over 170 Republican Colleagues introducing the Regulations from the Executive In Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act of 2023. The REINS Act would require Congress to approve any federal rule or regulation the Office of Management and Budget determines to have an economic impact of $100 million or more according to before it is imposed on the American people.

“It’s common sense: If Congress passes a law, it should take responsibility for the impact of that law on the American people, their jobs and our nation’s economy,” said Rep Webster. “Over the years, Congress has slowly delegated its responsibility to unaccountable Washington bureaucrats, allowing for intrusive government regulations that hurt job growth and reduces wages earned by hardworking Americans - and it’s getting worse. I’ve long advocated for Congress to take back the Constitutional authority and this bill is a step in that direction.”
