Webster Supports Legislation Preventing Hamas Terrorists from Seeking Asylum in the U.S.
January 31, 2024
Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, released the following statement after voting to pass H.R. 6679, the No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act, to ensure that any alien who participated or assisted in the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks against Israel are inadmissible to, and removable from, the United States.
“On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists carried out the deadliest terrorist attack in Israel’s history,” said Rep. Webster. “H.R. 6679 prevents Hamas terrorists and those involved in the October attacks from exploiting the border crisis to seek refuge in the United States. While current federal law already deems known terrorists or individuals involved in terrorism as inadmissible to the United States, this legislation simplifies the process and explicitly states that those who participated in the attacks against Israel cannot enter our country.”
