Clermont, FL — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, released the following statement after his visit to the Southern Border in Eagle Pass, Texas along with Speaker Mike Johnson and nearly 60 House Republicans. 
 
“This week, I visited the Southern Border in Eagle Pass, TX to get a first-hand update on how President Biden’s failed policies have perpetuated the crisis at our southern border,” said Rep. Webster. 
 
“During our visit, we heard from border patrol agents, local landowners, federal, state, and local officials on how President Biden’s open border policies have affected border communities and the operations at the southern border. While the Biden Administration attempts to downplay the extent of this crisis, I witnessed the desperate need for policy change.”
 
“Securing our nation’s borders is one of my top priorities. Since Republicans took the majority in the House, we have been working to fulfill our Commitment to America to secure the border by passing legislation like H.R. 2, our comprehensive border security bill. This visit reinforces my commitment to continue advocating for and supporting policies and legislation that secures our borders and sensibly reforms our immigration laws.”
