Rep. Webster – Congress Must Fully Fund Homeland Security
March 27, 2026
Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, voted to pass the House Amendment to the Senate Amendment to H.R. 7147, legislation that would fully fund the Department of Homeland Security for 60 days.
“Congress has a fundamental responsibly to safeguard our nation and ensure that the agencies tasked with defending our homeland have the resources necessary to carry out their mission,” said Rep. Webster. “While I generally oppose Continuing Resolutions, this legislation ensures continuity of operations at DHS while Congress continues to work toward a long-term solution.”
“This legislation stands in contrast to the proposal put forward by the Senate, which failed to fund key components of DHS, leaving many personnel without pay and undermining critical operations. While the One Big Beautiful Bill continues to fund critical functions of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), their proposal failed to fully fund border security operations and neglected essential functions that are vital to keeping our country safe."
