Webster Votes Again to Fund DHS
March 26, 2026
Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, today voted to pass H.R. 8029, the Pay Our Homeland Defenders Act, legislation that fully funds the Department of Homeland Security and ensures it is able to carry out its core mission of protecting the American people.
“Today, I voted once again to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security. This makes the third time this year that House Republicans have voted for and passed legislation to fund TSA, the United States Coast Guard, and FEMA. For 41 days, Democrats have put politics over the public safety of Americans by refusing to fund the Department of Homeland Security. This legislation ensures that the brave men and women of DHS – who have continued working without pay – are compensated and supported.”
“Every day of this shutdown has placed unnecessary strain on the men and women serving in the Department of Homeland Security. TSA officers have been forced to make difficult decisions as financial uncertainty grows, leading to staffing shortages at airports and delays impacting millions of American travelers. These disruptions are a direct result of Democrats refusal to fund the Department charged with keeping Americans safe. House Republicans are once again passing legislation to restore certainty and ensure those protecting our nation can continue their mission without distraction.”
