Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, was recently named a “Defender of Limited Government” by the Institute for Legislative Analysis (ILA), which advocates for limited government as envisioned by America’s Founding Fathers.

“I am honored to once again receive the Defender of Limited Government Award from the Institute of Legislative Analysis for being one of the Top 100 Members of Congress that consistently fights for and supports policies that preserve the ideals of limited government,” said Rep. Webster. “As a principled conservative, I will continue to advance policies that ensure our government is accountable to the American people and preserves their constitutional freedoms.”

“The Institute for Legislative Analysis is proud to present Representative Daniel Webster with the “Defender of Limited Government” Award for his voting record which closely aligned with the limited government principles of the U.S Constitution,” said ILA CEO Ryan McGowan. “While nearly every Republican campaigns that they will be among the ‘most conservative’ in office, few live up to their promise. For this reason, the ILA published the most comprehensive study on the U.S. Congress – covering 65,000 votes – to help recognize lawmakers such as Rep. Webster who keep the promises they make. We thank Rep. Webster for his stellar record on keeping America safe and protecting the individual liberties of all Floridians.”

The Institute for Legislative Analysis’ Limited Government Index is a national scorecard created with a philosophy based solely on the limited government principles of the U.S. Constitution.
