Washington, D.C. — As the 2026 tax filing season officially begins, Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, highlights major tax relief provisions taking effect this year as a result of the Working Families Tax Cuts.

“Last summer, I voted to pass the Working Families Tax Cuts to put middle- and working-class Americans first by delivering the largest tax cut in history,” said Rep. Webster. “These reforms help Americans at every stage of life keep more of their hard-earned money while making our tax code simpler.”

The Working Families Tax Cuts includes several key provisions taking effect for the first time this filing season:

  • Enhanced Standard Deduction: Millions of working- and middle-class Americans now benefit from a higher standard deduction, reducing their tax burden and simplifying the filing process.
  • Additional Tax Relief for Seniors: Seniors age 65 and older receive an additional $6,000 in tax relief, helping those on fixed incomes.
  • No Tax on Tips and Overtime: Service workers and hourly employees can now keep more of their earnings from tips and overtime pay.
  • Expanded Child Tax Credit and Trump Savings Account: Families receive $2,200 per child and gain access to a new tax-advantaged savings account to invest in their children’s future.
  • No Tax on Auto Loan Interest: Americans may deduct up to $10,000 in interest paid on qualified auto loans, easing the cost of transportation for working families.

“These common-sense reforms reward work, support families, and honor our commitment to seniors,” Webster added. “I will continue to fight alongside President Trump to put the American people first.”
