Webster: The Great American Comeback is Underway

Washington, D.C. — Ahead of President Donald J. Trump’s State of the Union address, Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, released the following statement highlighting the historic progress made.
“As our nation prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, President Trump will deliver a State of the Union address that meets this historic moment. Under President Trump’s leadership, the state of our union is strong and only getting stronger.
“Just a short time ago, under the failed policies of the Biden-Harris administration, our country faced a historic crisis at our southern border, inflation that surged to 9%, skyrocketing interest rates that put the dream of homeownership out of reach for countless Americans, and a foreign policy that projected weakness.
“Today. The contrast could not be clearer.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, our country is safer, stronger, and prosperous again. The border is secure and the rule of law has been restored. Inflation has fallen to 2.4 percent. Mortgage rates have dropped to a three-year low. American energy production has been unleashed, driving down gas prices. On the world stage, the President has restored Peace through Strength, ending eight wars around the world while putting American interests first.
“In Congress, I have worked to support the President’s America First agenda. Last summer, I voted to pass the Working Families Tax Cuts – delivering historic tax relief to middle- and working-class Americans. These reforms put more money back in the pockets of seniors, families, hardworking Americans and small businesses.
“Our country has come a long way, but our work is not done. I will continue fighting in Congress to advance commonsense policies that lower costs, make health care more affordable, reform burdensome regulations so American can build again, and protect American elections.”
