Webster: Water Bill Promotes & Streamlines Infrastructure Projects

Washington, D.C. – Representative Daniel Webster, FL-11, issued the following statement today after voting in support of H.R. 8, Water Resources Development Act (WRDA).

“Throughout my public service, I have advocated for policies that support local projects and find solutions that preserve and protect Florida’s precious natural resources, while balancing the needs of our growing economy.

“WRDA 2018 authorizes funding for the nation’s ports, inland waterways, locks, dams, flood protection, ecosystem restoration, and other water resources infrastructure. It improves the oversight of infrastructure projects, prevent unnecessary delays and increased costs, in line with President Trump’s call to reduce red tape and regulatory burdens. It also expands authorization for key Florida projects, including Everglades Restoration.

“I look forward to working with our colleagues in the Senate on a final bill that invests in infrastructure, supports our critical water resources and protects our country’s natural resources.”

Webster currently serves as a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. For more information on WRDA 2018 visit: https://transportation.house.gov/wrda-2018/
