VAe opens veterans’ skills training facility in Orlando

(Orlando, FL) Today, Veterans Assembled electronics LLC opened its third training center for service-disabled veterans (SDV), located on Hoffner Avenue in Orlando, Florida.

VAe’s training is different from other training organizations. Following a five month STRAC (Skills TRaining And Certification) immersion program, VAe works with each veteran to craft a resume and prepare for job interviews, and works directly with an employer to get the veteran placed.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, VAe’s CEO John Shepard said, “Our focus is to solve veterans’ unemployment, homelessness, and societal problems by giving them a fresh start in meaningful and productive jobs.” He added, “The training and job placement we do is in response to the growing demand for electronics technicians in Florida and the high unemployment rate among veterans.”

Also in attendance was Congressman Daniel Webster (FL-10), who said, “VAe’s training facility provides a unique opportunity for service-disabled veterans who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom. I am glad to welcome VAe to Orlando as they offer valuable employment services to these local heroes.”

Mr. Shepard added, “We are excited to expand our program to Orlando and appreciate the local support of Congressional leaders and the Department of Veterans Affairs.”
