Representative Daniel Webster (FL-10) issued the following statement today following his vote in support of bipartisan passage of H.J.Res. 59, the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2014:

“We must take seriously our growing debt problem and the financial insecurity it brings to our lives and the burden it puts on the backs of our children and grandchildren. We must reject Washington’s cookie cutter control of our health care mandated upon us by Obamacare and embrace patient-centered reforms that allow each of us the care we need, from the healthcare professional of our choice, at a cost we can afford. Finally, we must move past the politics of shutting down the government.

“Today, I supported legislation that continues our effort to control reckless spending, defunds Obamacare and prevents a government shutdown. This House-passed funding measure rolls back spending to pre-2008 spending levels while halting the unworkable health care policies contained in Obamacare that raise costs, limit choices and destroy jobs. It is time for the Senate to join us and pass this legislation without delay,”
said Rep. Webster.
