Webster Participates in Project Backpack
Leesburg, FL – Today, Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, donated backpacks of essential school supplies to the YMCA of the Suncoast and Hernando County Education Foundation. In the coming days, he will be personally donating nearly two dozen backpacks full of school supplies to local organizations throughout the district that provide them to needy students.
“I believe every student should have access to a quality education that will empower them to achieve success,” said Rep. Webster. “Sadly, many children start school without the basic tools and supplies. Through the backpack project, I am able to help provide students with essential supplies and thereby contribute to their excitement of starting a new school year and encourage academic success.”
For nearly a decade, Rep. Webster has donated a number of backpacks to students throughout the district who need basic school supplies such as crayons, pencils, and notebooks. The participating organizations across Congressional District 11 include: The New Church Without Walls, United Way of Citrus County, YMCA of the Suncoast, Hernando County Education Foundation, Lake County Education Foundation, Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida, Community Outreach Center, A Ministry of First Baptist Church of Belleview, Operation Bless Wildwood, and Parson’s Circle Community Outreach, Inc.
