Washington, D.C. — Today, Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, voted to pass H.R. 8580, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2025, bolstering national security and fully funding veteran’s benefits and programs.
 
“Today, I voted to pass legislation that honors our nation’s veterans and delivers on my commitment to keeping our nation safe,” said Rep. Webster. “We owe our veterans a debt we can never repay, but this legislation keeps our promise by fully funding veterans’ health care programs and benefits while also investing in our nation’s service members by funding military bases and military construction.”
 
Highlights of H.R. 8580 include:
 
  • Fully funding veterans’ health care programs.
  • Fully funds veterans’ benefits and VA programs.
  • Provides critical funding for the Indo-Pacific region, fully funding projects in Guam, and improves the Department of Defense’s posture in region.
  • Prohibits the use of taxpayer dollars from being used to provide abortions.
  • Protects the second amendment rights of veterans
  • Prohibits the diversion of VA resources for veterans to illegal aliens. 
  • Prohibits the use of funds to promote or implement President Biden’s ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ plan.
