Slow Recovery Shows Need to Make Small Business a Big Priority
Webster Participates in NFIB Rally to Discuss Solutions to Help Small Businesses Grow

U.S. Representative Daniel Webster (FL-10) issued the following statement on America’s slow economic recovery following the NFIB’s small business rally in Orlando, FL to highlight how a focus on small business can help create jobs:
“Here in Central Florida, where unemployment is a dismal 8.6%, the October jobs numbers continue to point to a weak, sluggish economy, and clearly demonstrate that the ever growing spending tactics of Washington are not working. While bureaucrats continue to point the finger at each other, nearly 23 million Americans are unemployed, underemployed or have completely stopped looking for work. This cannot become the ‘new normal.’ It is time to cast aside politics as usual and chart a new course marked with pro-growth policies that will jump-start our economy.
“During my visits to small businesses across our community, I heard time and again that we need answers that will build confidence, capital and certainty for the American people and make small business a big priority. Advancing policy solutions that will embrace job creators and small business owners has been my number one priority as I have joined my colleagues in the House of Representatives in passing nearly 40 bipartisan jobs bills that are regrettably still awaiting action in the Senate.
“By prioritizing our out-of-control spending, simplifying our complicated tax code to increase take home pay, and cutting through Washington’s endless supply of regulatory red tape, we can unleash the job-creating engine that is American small business and set a path to lead our nation away from the threat of fiscal discord and a bankrupt future," stated Webster.
