Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, released the following statement after voting to pass H.R. 7343, the Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops Act, H.R. 8146, the Police Our Border Act, and H.Res. 1210.
“Thanks to President Biden’s senseless open-border policies, every town is now a border town,” said Rep. Webster. “As a result, law enforcement officials across the country are experiencing more violent encounters with illegal immigrants. It’s simple – when an illegal immigrant assaults law enforcement officials, they should be permanently detained until they’re deported. These bills help protect our men and women in blue by holding criminals accountable and provide transparency into the effects of how President Biden’s border crisis impacts law enforcement.”
