Hurricane Irma: Marion

MARION COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Hazardous conditions still exist. They are asking everyone to remain off the roads as crews work to clear roads. Many downed trees are still tangled with power lines. Traffic signals are out all across the county. Please treat these as four-way stops. According to reports, 4800 people are at local shelters. These shelters are without power and are operating on generator back-up.

 

POWER OUTAGES:

  • SECO reporting 52% outage for their Marion County customers
  • Duke Energy reports 90% of Marion County customers without power
  • Ocala Electric Utilities reports 35,000 customers without power
  • Clay Electric reports that 92% of their customers are without power
